Bye Bye Binky

Over the summer, we decided that Addison was a little to big for binkies. I mean come on, she's 3. When we found out that baby #4 was a boy and maybe the whole pregnancy became "real" for her, it was time...she wouldn't be the baby anymore.

We talked about it for a few days, and when we felt she grasped the concept, we collected all the binkies we could find. We did the same thing for her as we did for Elley. She "bought" and new toy with them. She picked a new Build a Bear Pony. She knew where we were going and why and she sucked a binky the WHOLE way there. Once we got there, she was so distracted that giving up the binkies was no big deal. That night was hard...and so was the next night, and the night after that.

She did well though. fewer and fewer tears as time went on. I love that my kids take binkies, but giving them up is probably just as hard, if not harder, for me.

Do You Wanna See Something Awesome?

I just have to post this quick story before I forget it.
I drive my kids to school in the mornings, and we also take another girl with us who's just a little older than my girls. This morning I guess she brought something that she really wanted to show Elley, Molly, and Addison. Sometimes the whole car ride I just sit back and listen to their conversations. This morning was one of those mornings.

Peyton: "Hey!!! Do you guys wanna see something awesome?!"

Molly: "Is it my face?!" Giggle, Giggle, Giggle

My Molly never misses a beat. I couldn't help but laugh out loud. She sure has a funny sense of humor!
