Danielle, Denton,and Cohen

Adam and I have been very lucky to have met some good friends in our married life. Friends that we both get along with, not just him or I. We met Danielle and Denton in the beginning of last year and we quickly became friends. Danielle and I were both stay at home moms, we went on countless walks dragging our kids behind us. All of us enjoy playing games which resulted in at least every other weekend around the kitchen table playing and eating until all hours.

Well, we all know the saying, all good things must come to an end......and it did! They moved away! BUT, good news is, they only moved a few hours away so we can still visit each other.

A few weekends ago, our whole family had a little mini vacation visiting our great friends.....Danielle, Denton, and Cohen.

Cohen and Molly are only 2 weeks apart, Cohen being the older. All of their milestones were just that as well....2 weeks apart.

While we were there, we had a very mini birthday party for Elley. Really it was just a last minute candle in the dessert......but she LOVED it!

Okay, so here is the last post about Leavenworth. Can I again say, that we had such a fun Christmas break there with our family.

Every time we take a trip to Leavenworth we try and stop here and have a famous bratwurst. Last time we were in Leavenworth this past summer......we forgot, or didn't have time to head into town for one of these mouth watering sausages. Thank goodness we found the time this trip!!!!

Elley and Molly are so lucky to have the grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins they have. Here are a few pictures from Christmas of having fun with family.

Grandma and Grandpa got Elley and Molly a tent play house for Christmas. The girls love it and so do their friends. Who wouldn't, it comes with a tent, a fort, and 2 tunnels.

The Lights of Leavenworth

Going to Leavenworth at Christmas is one of my most favorite things to do. It is so beautiful with all the lights, decorations, snow, and the many, many people who come for a glimps of what this little town has to offer. Here are some pictures from one of our many trips into town.

While in Leavenworth for our Christmas vacation, we had a chance to go sledding many times. Lucky for us, Grandma and Grandpa have a little sledding hill right outside their door. When we got there Christmas Eve, there wasn't a whole lot of snow, enough to sled on, but not as much as we would of liked. We made the most of it and waited all week for the storm to bring us some nice, soft, cushy snow.

3 things Molly did this weekend that made me throw-up a little in my mouth

My friend Melinda posted on her blog 3 stories about her kids. It was called, "3 things that my kids did today that made me laugh." Cute stories, and they should be...her kids are super cute!

Well, it got me thinking about my kids. I'm sure they did things this weekend to make me laugh but, 3 stories stand out even more so. That's why this post is called, "3 things Molly did this weekend that made me throw-up in my mouth a little!"

1. Elley, in the process of getting her pants down and her butt on the toilet, pooped a little on the floor. Molly decided to play in it, smear in all over the floor, and then smear it all over her face.

2. Molly is mobile now so church classes are a little hard. During Sunday School I was walking around the church with her. She was walking through the chapel and found a fruit snack on the floor. Before I could make it to her she had already popped it in her mouth. I tried to get it out but she was not giving it up.

3. Elley was using the bathroom and left the door cracked a little. Molly had gone into the bathroom and emptied the contents of a drawer. While I was picking everything back up my back was turned away from Molly and Elley. Next thing I hear is splashing in water. Yep, Molly is splashing around in the toilet. I said, "No Molly!" and she immediate took her hands out of the toilet and put them in her mouth.

I am pretty cute even though I have a potty mouth!!!

CHRISTMAS

Finally, I'm posting pictures of Christmas. We had such a fun Christmas this year. Adam had to work up until Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve morning we pack up the car and headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house. The 7 hour car ride is never anything we look forward to, but this year the girls did really well.

Happy Birthday Old Man

Okay, so I'm just joking about the old man part, especially considering that he is a year younger than me. But, look at that glowing cake!!

While we were away at Grandpa and Grandma's house we celebrated Adam's birthday. It kind of stinks having a birthday 3 days after Christmas, but we were in Washington so that made up for it.

Is that a smoke haze from having way too many candles on a cake? Maybe if he wasn't so OLD!

This cake is delicious!!! I bet some of you have even had it before. It's called, Better Than Sex Cake, but we don't call it Better Than Sex, because nothing could be better than that.....BUT, this cake is a close second.

Bake one chocolate cake from a box. Poke lots of holes in it after it's cooled a little. Drizzle one jar of caramel sauce, and one can of sweet and condensed milk all over the top. I've seen recipes that call for other stuff but this is the way we like it. Then put it in the fridge and let it chill. Right before you serve it top it with whipped cream.
