Relapse

A few weeks ago, Adam and I decided that it was time to take away the binky. We started out by only letting her have it at bed time and naps and then one day I tried not giving it to her at all. She went for 2 days straight without her binky. After those 2 days she started screaming every time we would put her to bed, both naps and for the night. She never has been a crier when it came to bed so I decided to give it back for bed and bed only. This is when the "relapse" happened. She now has one all day....I know, I know I am a bad mom! She is asking for a binky all day long and when I say no she cries and screams. I just don't know what to do. I feel bad that I have caved but I can't stand the crying and screaming. What do I do? Now for everyone that is going to give me their advice (which I want) keep in mind that I also have a 3 month old. So, this is my plea......help me anyone who has dealt with the binky before.

This Little Piggy

Today Adam was getting Molly ready for the day when he called for me to come see something. When I walked into the room he asked me if I had see Molly's toes lately. I told him that I saw her toes all the time. He then said that lucky for her and me he looked a little closer than I did. And this is what he showed me.........

I had read about this in a parents magazine. There is a section called "It happened to me," where parents can write in and share "bad" experiences that they have had with their children and for other parents to be aware.
You know when you do laundry and sometimes you get lint and hair stuck to your clothes? Well, I'm assuming that some hair got stuck in one of the feet of her p.j.'s or maybe in an outfit. There was a hair that got wrapped around not one, but two of her little piggies. Basically, the hair was wrapped around so tight that it was cutting off the circulation in her toes. Lucky we found it before it got any worse. Adam was able to get the hair off. It hadn't become embedded but looked like it was close. This picture was taken tonight and we found it this morning. Poor little girl! So, while folding your clothes, check your baby's footed p.j.'s for the little hairs that get stuck to the clothes.

McDonalds Birthday with Play Group

On Elley's Birthday, we had a little birthday party at McDonalds with our play group buddies. And, Auntie Kerilynn and Briley came to visit as a birthday surprise. Elley had so much fun with her cousin and her friends. Her are some pictures of cupcakes and presents.

She is now all decked out in princess crowns, jewelry, purses, makeup. She also got My Little Ponies, a princess camera and Polly Pockets.
She also got 2 other things that require their own posts....so stay tuned!

Birthday Night

After Daddy came home from work we had another mini birthday party. Our good friends Greg, Melinda and their cute kids came over to celebrate with us.

Elley opened this one gift from our friends first because I wanted her to wear a crown for her pictures. Thanks Melinda and Greg for making Elley a princess......and thanks Brenden for being the King!!

We didn't even get Elley a cake...we had brownies and Ice cream.

Birthday at Red Robin

As a family, we took Elley out to dinner for her birthday. We took her a few days before her actual birthday because Adam had to work on her birthday. We had such a good time! After we were done with our dinner some of the Red Robin servers came and sang happy birthday to Elley. They also brought her ice cream with all the toppings. She loved the attention but I think was a little overwhelmed at the fact that so many people were singing to her. It was her special night with Mommy, Daddy and Molly!

Her she is while they were singing to her....what a cheesy face!!

Notice that she would rather eat her kids meal than eat her ice cream....what a goof ball!

This is how Molly spent most of dinner......too much party makes Molly tired!

Latest Pictures of Molly

Molly continues to be a really good baby. She is pretty happy all the time and loves to smile and laugh at you. She is getting bigger and bigger....she is already starting to grow out of her 3 month clothes. I feel so lucky to have my 2 girls!

Tea Time

Last week, we had Macey over to play. As you can tell Elley LOVES her cousin Macey. They both get pretty excited to see each other. I hope they continue to be good friends through out their whole lives!!!

Out of all the toys in the house, they choose to play in the laundry basket!!!

Tea Party Time on Elley's new table

Elley's Birthday Table

For Christmas, Elley's grandpa and grandma gave her these pink and blue dishes. To go along with the dishes, grandma and grandpa gave her this table for her birthday. Grandpa and Uncle Andrew made this for her while we were visiting over Christmas. Thank you for all the hard work!!!

This is the table and chairs before we painted them. And, by the way, the chairs were Adam and Maggie's when they were little.

And, here it is all done!!! Adam wanted to paint them neutral colors but I talked him into these cute little girl colors. Who wants to have a Tea Party on a plain white table..... right?

Over the River and Through the Woods

Adam had some time off after Christmas so we decided to make a trip to Grandma and Grandpa's house. I was not looking forward to the 8 hour car ride with the 2 girls but they did exceptionally well. We left at 5 pm on the way there thinking Elley would sleep the whole way, well....she didn't, in fact she only slept for about 2 hours. She didn't cry much and loved watching Barney (her new addiction) Thank you to Mark and Jordan for letting us use the DVD player....it was a life saver!
Here are some pictures of our trip. I tried to pick only a few but it was so hard....so get ready for Christmas picture overload, And click on the picture if you want to see it bigger.

Christmas Night

As I mentioned in my last post, we had our "Christmas" Christmas night. My dad and I cooked our Christmas dinner while Adam was at work and as soon as he walked in the door we ate. After dinner we opened our presents and then played until it was time to go to bed. Here are a few pictures of our Christmas night.

Dinner

We never got Elley a stocking...I know I know, bad parents but last year she was to young and we were to lazy. This year I don't know what happened.....but, Adam was born so close to Christmas that when his parents brought him home from the hospital he came home in a stocking. That is what we used for Elley.

Elley loved to "steel" Tic Tac's from my dad, so that's what he gave her for Christmas. She loved that....her own pack of Tic Tac's

Elley got a new back pack to take to Grandma and Grandpa's

And Little Miss Molly got a new entertainment play mat from Grandma and Grandpa

Christmas Eve

This year Christmas was a little different for us. Adam had to work Christmas but not Christmas Eve. We decided to let Elley open a few gifts Christmas Eve and then Christmas night, after Adam got home from work, we had a Christmas dinner and opened all the presents. Here are some pictures of Christmas Eve and later I will post pictures of Christmas .

These are the new play dishes Elley got from Grandma Pat and Grandpa Dan. She loves them and is always setting them up for a "Tea Party." She is always asking for jew (juice) in the cups and when I say no she goes and gets some water from the bath tub.

She got some new skates from Mommy and Daddy. She doesn't really get the concept yet but hopefully they will be a fun spring/summer toy.
