A Big Haircut for a Big Girl

Tears, tears, and more tears is all I got when I brushed Elley's hair. She must of inherited her momma's tender head. Beauty School was torture for me, to gain experience we often had to use each other. So I understood what Elley was going through, although I chose to ignore it. She begged to cut her hair but her dad and I kept saying no.

Finally one morning, after tears, whining, and full on screaming I decided it was time!

Elley's first big haircut!

Look at this smile. She was so happy to be getting a haircut.

A whole 6 inches. She wanted to cut it up to her ears and I didn't want it cut, so we met in the middle.

I couldn't get any normal smiles out of this girl after it was all done. I can't believe how much older it makes her look. I'm not gonna lie, I miss her longer hair, but at the same time I think she is super cute with this cut. She loves it and doesn't cry nearly as much as before about brushing....and that's what matters!

Addison and Her New Tricks

We just love our Addison girl. She makes us all happy. She is full of energy, always on the go. Her legs never stop moving. Crawling and cruising, she'll be walking in no time. She is constantly trying new things, never afraid to climb, taste, or explore anything.

Her sisters absolutely adore her. It's actually really annoying. Annoying in the fact that they can't leave her alone to try new things, and that's all Addison wants to do. Don't get me wrong, I love that Molly and Elley love Addison but come on, give the girl some space! :)

She had a check up the other day. We missed her 9 month checkup somehow and now she's off her schedule. 11 months...CRAZY!!! That year went by fast!!! She is 11% (16 lbs 1oz) for weight and 10% for height. She's a small little bug!

Molly made Addison a table out of a step stool the other day. She was very proud of herself and proud that Addison liked her new table. She sat there for about 15 seconds to eat some puffs, and then off she went again.

To my dismay, Addison figured out the stairs. She is curious and adventurous and before I knew it up she went. Time to bust out the baby gates....boo hoo for mommy!!!

But obviously she was very proud of herself and this new accomplishment. "Look what I did mommy!"

Molly and Elley kidnapped Addison one morning while I was in the shower. They got her a sippy cup and stuck her in the grocery cart. She didn't seem to mind this...in fact, I think she liked it.

Those stinkin' girls, I just love them!!!

And here she is banging two bowls together. She loved the loud noise it made and all the attention she got she she did it. Crazy girl!!!

Elley's Graduation

I went to a preschool graduation today. Not just any preschool graduation, Elley's graduation. I didn't think it was going to be that big of a deal. A classic rookie, first time mom of a preschool graduate thought. It was a big deal, it was a very big deal.

Miss Michelle got up and said something to the affect of "well kids, it's time to move on, you've learned all you needed to learn in preschool." I looked at Elley and I thought, she's right. Elley has learned all she needed, my big girl is ready for kindergarten.

I am so thankful for Elley's preschool and all that it has taught her. Not only academically, but socially as well. Elley, over the past 2 years at Harmony Preschool, has become an amazing girl, learning amazing things, and had 2 amazing teachers.

Elley getting her diploma

Miss Michelle said something sweet about the kids as they received their diploma. She said that Elley was her little shadow all year, which remained true even today at the graduation, and that she loved that Elley told her EVERYTHING about her family and what was going on with our lives. (Thank you Elley, I hope I don't have to be that embarrassed.)
